Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on court had led commentators to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
